Horses

Jellybean is a 2011 model grade appendix. Which is of course a fancy way of saying she's an athletic looking quarter horse mutt. Her breeder named her Dusty Summer, and the blog is titled accordingly. I bought her when she was eighteen months old and have worked with her ever since. She has definitely been an eye-opener. With her sassy attitude and bravery, I can't wait to get her started on cross country! Jellybean periodically steals our phone and tweets, check her out @jellybeanhorse

Good Graces is a 2005 model Hanoverian mare out of Repent You Sinners (TB) by Gouverneur. We picked her up on a tire kicking trip to a craigslist ad rather unexpectedly. She has turned out to be a solid acquisition, and Robert has big plans for her. She is a very sweet and good minded horse, albeit a little lazy. She is learning how to jump and should be seen at an event soon. Maggie has been training her while Robert is busy, and its a contest to see if Maggie or Robert bring home the first ribbons :p! She also has a twitter, although she claims to be too cool to use it. @goodgraceshorse

Knots (Have and Have Knots) is a 2002 (ish) model something or other. He certainly has something gaited in his pedigree. He came to Maggie when he was abandoned in her pasture. He is extremely athletic and loves to jump. In his past life, we think he was a trail ride horse or maybe a wannabe cow horse. He came complete with some mental baggage that we have been working through for a while. I have been riding him since early 2013 and competing since 2014. Our show record is as follows:

March 2014 High Point Derby- Eliminated
May 2014 Topsider Dressage- 1st Beginner Novice A, 3rd USDF Intro C
July 2014 Pine Hill Schooling Horse Trials- 3rd Goldilocks
January 2015 High Point Derby- 3rd Beginner Novice
October 2015 Pine Hill Schooling Horse Trials- 4th Beginner Novice
